Celestial Cipher
I wanted to create an oracle deck that was simple yet powerful, drawing on ideas from psychology as well as existential and postmodern
philosophy.
The implementation is intuitive and allows readers to generate their own insights instead of repeating rigid phrases and dogmatic interpretations.
Why an oracle? I love the structure and iconography of the tarot, but it’s tenets are as ancient as the deck itself; narrow outdated ideas about gender and societal roles being just one example of values being baked into it’s design
I devised the Celestial Cipher Oracle around iconic archetypes and the cards are designed to invoke sight from use, rather than from studying complicated systems in textbooks. It’s a 36 card deck designed to inspire.
